So, what I’ve started this weekend is a challenge to myself to record some of the least favorite songs that I’ve written. These are songs that I’ve attempted to record before but due to not really being into them, have been tossed on the scrap pile. The challenge is to attempt to extract the emotion from when I wrote the song and express it in these new recordings.

Now you might say, isn’t that what you’re supposed to do when you record a song in the first place? And the answer is yes, of course. But there’s been something blocking that response with these songs, turning the past process into something purely mechanical.

So, off I go, to try to pry my way back into those places in my mind. This may be a treacherous idea, but I believe it must be done to move forward.

If you haven’t heard of and already checked out bandcamp.com, you should; because it’s pretty awesome. The people who created the site really love music and have offered a means to give the listeners what they want, in whatever file format they want.

So far I have the entire Help Is On The Way album up there and will be uploading Until The Sun Dies next week.

I’m working on rebuilding this site with wordpress. I’m sick of wasting time screwing around with Dreamweaver when I could be spending that time doing something I care about, which is not building websites.
There is some writing and recording happening while this is going on, it might be filed under schizophrenia.
